This achievement was revealed in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, as Apple Music published a list of the biggest Nigerian albums, songs, and artists on its platform.
The critically acclaimed Made In Lagos, released in 2020, features the global smash hit “Essence” featuring Tems, which won the 2022 BET Award for Best Collaboration. The album has been a cultural phenomenon, solidifying Wizkid’s influence not only in Nigeria but across the world.
Following closely behind on the list is Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated albums Love, Damini and African Giant, taking the second and third spots, respectively. Tems’ For Broken Ears EP is the fourth most streamed Nigerian album on Apple Music, marking the only project by a female artist to make the top 10.
