Wizkid Calls Upcoming Album ‘Morayo’ His Best Ever

Wizkid is excited about his upcoming album, “Morayo,” which he describes as the best he has ever made.

The Nigerian superstar has achieved numerous milestones for Nigerian and African music with his hit singles and albums. Ahead of the release of his sixth album, Wizkid took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on July 4, 2024, to share his enthusiasm.

“MORAYO!! Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!”

“Morayo” is named after Wizkid’s late mother, who passed away in August 2023. This latest post came after he paid an emotional tribute to her on her first posthumous birthday.

In a recent update on X, Wizkid revealed that his album will feature collaborations with several Nigerian artists. He was recently spotted in the studio with artists such as Shallipopi, Odumodublvck, and Omah Lay.

“Morayo” follows Wizkid’s 2023 EP “S2,” which included tracks like “IDK” featuring Zlatan and “Diamond” featuring Wande Coal. It will be his sixth LP, coming after his 2022 album “More Love, Less Ego,” which featured lead singles “Money & Love” and “Bad To Me.”

The anticipation for “Morayo” is high, especially after Wizkid’s controversial Instagram story post stating that he no longer wants to be associated with Afrobeats and that fans of his first album “Superstar” should not bother listening to his next album.
