Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has set a new milestone by achieving the longest gap between No. 1 songs on the TurnTable Top 100, Nigeria’s leading music chart.
Wizkid’s latest chart-topping success comes from his feature on Asake’s hit single “MMS,” off Asake’s third album Lungu Boy. The song soared to No. 1 on the TurnTable Top 100, marking Wizkid’s second time at the top of the chart.
This achievement comes 3 years, 9 months, and 12 days after Wizkid last held the No. 1 spot with his hit single “Ginger,” featuring Burna Boy. This breaks the previous record held by Omah Lay, whose gap between chart-toppers was 1 year, 10 months, and 16 days.

Wizkid’s ability to maintain relevance and achieve chart success over such a long period highlights his enduring influence and status as a cornerstone of Nigerian mainstream music for over a decade.
Fans are eagerly awaiting Wizkid’s upcoming sixth album, Morayo, named after his late mother. The Grammy-winning artist has already teased his best work yet and confirmed that the album will feature collaborations with Nigerian artists.
As a prelude to Morayo, Wizkid released the second installment of his Soundman EP in December 2023 and has been featured on several high-profile tracks in 2024, including DJ Tunez’s “Apala Disco,” Shenseea’s “Work Me Out,” and Asake’s “MMS.”
