Former Big Brother Naija winner White Money, born Hazel Oyeye Onou, recently shared insights with his Instagram followers about his music career, confidently stating he’s better positioned to offer advice to Nigerian artist Shallipopi. This statement comes after White Money wrapped up an eight-state tour in the United States, signaling his commitment to growing his presence in the music industry.
In a viral clip from his Instagram live, White Money compared his musical experience to Shallipopi’s, attributing Shallipopi’s success less to vocal skill and more to his unique charisma. “Shallipopi doesn’t have an incredible voice, but it’s all about the swag. When he says ‘Plutomanians,’ he captures the audience. It’s not always about voice; it’s about personality,” White Money explained, emphasizing that Shallipopi’s charm is a huge part of his appeal as an artist.
Shallipopi doesn’t have a wonderful voice…Musically i’m more exposed than him. In every angle for entertainment, I pass am.”

White Money, reflecting on his own musical journey, pointed out that his U.S. tour and exposure put him in a solid position to offer advice to Shallipopi. “I’m more musically exposed and have broader entertainment experience, so I can guide him, just as he could offer advice to me. It goes both ways,” he said. He went on to note that, despite the advice he often receives on social media, he doesn’t believe his followers are in a position to guide him on music matters.
Since his Big Brother Naija win, White Money has been working to build a music career, joining several other ex-housemates who’ve ventured into the industry. Although he has yet to achieve mainstream success, White Money remains committed to his goals, showing no signs of stepping back in his quest to become a Grammy-winning artist.
