Released on July 28, 2023, as the lead single from her self-titled debut album, “Water” became a global sensation. She follows Rema, who first crossed the 1 billion mark in 2024 with his smash hit “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez.
Tyla is also the first African female lead artist to have a song reach 1 billion Spotify streams. The song’s remix featuring Travis Scott helped it peak at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it spent 29 weeks. Its success earned her major awards, including MTV VMAs, MTV EMAs, BET Awards, and a Grammy for Best African Music Performance.

Her debut album, “TYLA,” features collaborations with Tems, Skillibeng, and Gunna. The album spent 15 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at No. 24.
She also secured her second Billboard Hot 100 entry with “Push 2 Start,” which recently got a remix featuring Jamaican dancehall icon Sean Paul.
With her growing global recognition, Tyla continues to push African music to new heights.
