Renowned singer Inetimi Alfred Odom, popularly known as Timaya, has voiced his concerns about the growing economic difficulties, stating that while global hardship is evident, it is especially severe in Nigeria.
In a recent interview with Channels Television, Timaya remarked:
“Things are really hard. I feel it for people because if people are not happy, I can’t be happy, too. I pay bills. I help a lot of people, so I understand what they are going through.”
He highlighted how the rising cost of living has affected both his staff and family members:
“My staff’s salaries and upkeep for family members have drastically increased because of the high cost of living.”
Timaya also spoke about how the entertainment industry is impacted, emphasizing the high cost of producing music videos and promotion:
“Just shooting a music video now costs between N50 million and N100 million. And when you shoot the video, to promote it, you need more millions.”
