Nigeria’s Super Falcons have taken a significant stride toward securing a coveted spot in the football event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Their 1-0 victory over South Africa in the first leg of the final qualifying round has positioned them strongly for Olympic qualification.


Rasheedat Ajibade’s successful conversion of a penalty in the 43rd minute sealed the win for the Nigerian team during the intense showdown at Abuja’s MKO Abiola Stadium on Friday.


Displaying a strong start, the Super Falcons dominated the match, applying relentless pressure on the South African side. Despite their early efforts, converting opportunities into goals proved challenging for the team.
