Nigerian singer Teni has clarified the reason behind her recent gesture of prostrating to greet businessman and socialite IBD Dende on a plane.

As reported by DAILY POST, Teni faced criticism after sharing a video of the encounter on her social media handle. Many commentators slammed her for associating with IBD Dende, who has been accused of smuggling.

Teni’s Response

In a response on Sunday morning, Teni explained that she was unaware of any criminal activities linked to IBD Dende. She revealed that the businessman had shown her kindness in 2014, before she gained fame, and she has held him in high esteem since then.

“[I] Met IBD [Dende] in 2014 and he was so good to me, even before I blew up. So when[ever] I see him, it’s always love. I honestly had no knowledge of any criminal activities associated with him. I do not support criminals, so let the law take its course.”

In conclusion

Teni’s statement clarifies her position and emphasizes her respect for IBD Dende based on their past encounter. While she acknowledges the allegations against him, she reiterates that she does not support criminal activities and trusts the legal system to handle the matter accordingly.
