Nigerian international sensation and Grammy winner, Tems, has released the music video for her single ‘Burning’ from her debut album ‘Born In the Wild.’ Originally scheduled for an earlier release, the video was postponed due to nationwide protests sparked by economic hardships and cost of living crises following President Bola Tinubu’s reforms.
The protests, which began on August 1, 2024, saw citizens demanding a reversal of PMS and power subsidy removals and a reduction in the cost of governance. Despite these challenges, the ‘Burning’ music video was released on August 5, 2024, and was shot in the iconic streets of New York, featuring scenes of Tems walking through Times Square.
‘Burning’ is the third single from the 18-track album, following ‘Me & U’ and ‘Love Me Jeje,’ which pays homage to the classic Seyi Sodimu & Shaffy Bello’s song. Tems’ debut album has propelled her into a world tour, where she performs fan favorites like ‘Free Mind’ and ‘Higher,’ which have achieved significant commercial success.
Adding to her accolades, Tems won Best Gospel/Inspirational for ‘Me & U’ at the 2024 BET Awards, marking her fourth win at the prestigious event.
