Controversial singer Speed Darlington has taken a swipe at his colleague, Portable, following his arrest over an unpaid car debt.
As reported by Culbeed, Portable was taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday for failing to pay off a debt he incurred when he purchased a G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state.
In a mocking tone, Speed Darlington ridiculed Portable for pretending to be a superstar while struggling with financial woes. The ‘Akpi’ singer emphasized that he lives within his means, flaunting his 18-year-old Benz as a symbol of his financial prudence.
In a video message shared on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Darlington said, “Haha, Portable thought he could fly but ended up jumping the fence! Yoruba superstar, yet no money to pay for his Benz!”
He continued, “Nobody is looking for me because I keep it real. I don’t bite off more than I can chew. Portable was showing off his GLE, but he couldn’t even afford it!”
Speed Darlington concluded, “My Benz may be 18 years old, but I’ve got peace of mind. I can’t pretend to be what I’m not. Portable should take notes!”
