Shallipopi Confirms Departure from Dapper Music Amid Seyi Vibez Rumors

Shallipopi Revisits His Roots in Benin City with New Spotify RADAR Africa Documentary

Rising Nigerian street-hop star Shallipopi, born Crown Uzama, has confirmed his exit from Dapper Music, marking a new chapter in his career as he shifts focus to his self-owned record label. Known for hits like Elon Musk and Oscroh, Shallipopi has been a major figure in the Nigerian street-hop scene since his breakout in 2023 and continued to rise with his 2024 album Shakespopi, collaborations with Rema on Benin Boys, and Smur Lee on Juju alongside Odumodublvck.

Shallipopi’s departure follows recent speculation around another street-hop artist, Seyi Vibez, who also appeared to leave Dapper Music after updating his bio to “independent” and wiping his social media. However, in a recent interview with Naija FM, Shallipopi clarified that his contract with Dapper Music had simply concluded and emphasized that there is no animosity between him and the label.

With several artists already signed to his label, Shallipopi is now focusing on developing his brand and expanding his influence in the music industry independently. His next steps are highly anticipated by fans who have followed his rapid ascent in Nigerian street-hop.
