Seyi Vibez Goes Independent, Parts Ways with Dapper Music

Nigerian Street-Hop sensation Seyi Vibez has officially parted ways with Dapper Music, the label that helped propel him into the mainstream. Since making waves in 2022, Seyi Vibez has enjoyed massive success, becoming one of Nigeria’s most notable artists.

In a recent turn of events, the hitmaker signaled his split from Dapper Music by wiping his Instagram account and removing the label’s name from his bio, replacing it with “Independent.” This move clearly indicates his decision to go solo.

A confidential source confirmed to Pulse Nigeria that Seyi Vibez has indeed ended his partnership with the label. This news comes shortly after the artist canceled his Canadian tour, with organizers citing “circumstances beyond their control.”

Seyi Vibez’s departure from Dapper Music has sparked speculations about potential disagreements between the artist and the label. Under Dapper Music, he shot to prominence with his breakout hit ‘Chance’ and enjoyed a fruitful partnership that saw him win the 2023 Headies Award for Best Street-Hop.

Both Seyi Vibez and Dapper Music achieved remarkable success together, with the label’s CEO, Damilola Akinwunmi, receiving TurnTable Chart’s Executive of the Year award for 2023.

The artist, however, hasn’t slowed down. In 2024, he released his latest EP ‘Loseyi Professor,’ marking his sixth solo project since November 2022. Earlier this year, he also launched his own label, Vibez INC, where he unveiled a roster of new artists, signaling his next big chapter as an independent artist.

Fans are eager to see what’s next for Seyi Vibez as he embarks on this new phase of his career.
