Rema’s ‘Raves & Roses’ Surpasses 100 Weeks on the Billboard 200 Chart, Marking a Historic Milestone

Rema's 'Raves & Roses' surpasses 100 weeks on Billboard 200 chart

Rema, a prominent figure in the global Afrobeats movement from Nigeria, continues to make waves with his debut album ‘Raves & Roses’. This album has achieved a remarkable feat by spending over 100 weeks on the prestigious Billboard 200 Global Chart. This accomplishment solidifies ‘Raves & Roses’ as the second longest-charting Nigerian album in Billboard history, just behind Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’, which holds the top spot with 133 weeks on the chart.

The success of ‘Raves & Roses’ has been propelled by Rema’s breakout single ‘Calm Down’, which has not only garnered significant acclaim but also set numerous records. ‘Calm Down’ reached an impressive peak of #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and maintained its presence on the chart for more than 52 weeks. Additionally, the song has achieved 4X RIAA Platinum certification, further underlining its popularity and impact. Remarkably, ‘Calm Down’ made history as the first African song to surpass 1 billion streams in the United States, highlighting its monumental influence on Nigerian music on the global stage.

As Rema enters 2024, he continues to build on his success with the release of ‘Benin Boys’, a collaboration with Benin City’s own Shallipopi. The track debuted at the coveted No. 1 spot on the TurnTable Top 100 chart, further cementing Rema’s position as a trailblazer in the music industry.

Rema’s journey with ‘Raves & Roses’ not only celebrates his achievements but also underscores his ongoing impact on the international music scene, showcasing Nigeria’s vibrant cultural influence globally.
