Rema Reportedly Paid $3M to Perform at Indian Billionaire Ambani’s Son’s Wedding

Nigerian Afrobeats megastar Rema has arrived in India to perform at the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.

On Instagram Thursday night, the “Calm Down” singer shared a video of himself walking towards a private chartered plane, dressed in an all-black outfit. He added the song “Azaman” from his recently released sophomore album “He Is” as background music and included an emoji of the Indian tricolour.

According to the Hindustan Times, Rema is set to earn $3 million for performing his global hit “Calm Down” at the event.

Canadian singer Justin Bieber was reportedly paid $10 million for his performance at the same event, and pop star Rihanna also performed for an undisclosed fee.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are scheduled to tie the knot on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC) in Mumbai.

The four-day wedding extravaganza in Mumbai is the culmination of a series of lavish parties the family has hosted since March.

“Kim Kardashian, former UK PMs Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish PM Carl Bildt, and former Canadian PM Stephen Harper are among several other prominent figures expected to attend the wedding.”
