Rema and Seun Kuti Set to Represent Nigeria at 2025 Coachella

The highly anticipated lineup for Coachella 2025 has been announced, and two of Nigeria’s brightest stars, Rema and Seun Kuti, are among the global artists set to perform at the iconic music festival. Coachella, known as one of the world’s most celebrated music events, attracts thousands of fans every year to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

The 2025 edition, scheduled to run from April 11 to April 20, features over 100 performers, with headliners Lady Gaga, Post Malone, and Travis Scott leading the charge. Nigerian music will be well-represented as Rema takes the stage for his Coachella debut, while Afrobeat legend Seun Kuti makes history as the first Nigerian artist to perform at the festival three times.

Seun Kuti’s return to Coachella highlights his enduring legacy in global music. He first performed at the festival in 2012, making history as the first Nigerian to grace its stage. His inclusion this year cements his status as a pioneer of Afrobeat on the global scene.

For Rema, Coachella is another milestone in a groundbreaking year. The Afrobeats superstar continues to dominate the international stage, setting records in the United States with the most-streamed Nigerian song and the highest-charting track by a Nigerian artist on the Billboard Hot 100. His Coachella debut is a testament to his rapidly growing global influence.

Nigeria’s presence at Coachella has grown significantly in recent years, with past performances by artists such as Burna Boy, CKay, Spinall, Fireboy DML, and Tems. At the 2024 edition, Tems delivered a show-stopping performance alongside Wizkid and Justin Bieber for their hit remix of ‘Essence.’

Rema and Seun Kuti’s performances are expected to showcase the rich diversity of Nigerian music, blending contemporary Afrobeats with timeless Afrobeat rhythms. Fans across the globe are eagerly anticipating the festival, ready to witness these artists leave their mark on one of the world’s biggest music stages.
