The battle for Victor Osimhen’s signature is heating up as two European giants, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, have reportedly made verbal contract offers for the Super Eagles striker.
Osimhen, 25, was eager to leave Napoli last summer, but his hefty €130 million release clause proved a major roadblock. Instead, he secured a season-long loan move to Galatasaray, where his release clause was significantly reduced to €75 million—an amount that can be triggered when the summer transfer window opens.
United and PSG Ready to Pounce
According to Caught Offside, both Manchester United and PSG are prepared to activate Osimhen’s €75 million release clause. Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu also confirmed that the two clubs have presented verbal contract offers, discussing salary and contract length with the Nigerian forward.
Galatasaray, eager to retain Osimhen permanently, previously submitted a €65 million bid to Napoli. However, the Italian club rejected the offer, making it unlikely that the Turkish Super Lig champions will be able to keep him beyond this season.
A New Chapter Beckons for Osimhen
Reports suggest that Osimhen is set to sign with a prestigious management company, with a Real Madrid player reportedly playing a role in the negotiations. This further reduces the likelihood of him remaining in Turkey past June.
“With both PSG and Manchester United willing to trigger his release clause, Galatasaray will find it incredibly difficult to compete,” a source revealed. “A summer move seems inevitable.”
Why United and PSG Want Osimhen
Manchester United’s interest in Osimhen comes as their current strikers, Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, struggle to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League. Ruben Amorim sees the Nigerian as a perfect solution to their attacking woes.
Meanwhile, PSG are dominating Ligue 1 but lack a traditional No. 9. With Randal Kolo Muani loaned to Juventus, the French champions are eyeing Osimhen as the ideal striker to lead their frontline.
However, they won’t have it easy. Several top European clubs are also monitoring Osimhen, who has been in red-hot form for Galatasaray this season—netting 17 goals and providing five assists in 23 appearances across all competitions.
With the summer window approaching, the race for Osimhen is set to intensify. Will he choose the bright lights of Old Trafford or the glamour of Paris? Or will another European powerhouse swoop in? One thing is certain—the Super Eagles star is heading for a blockbuster transfer saga.
