Controversial Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has openly criticized the Nigerian entertainment industry for its lack of financial support toward ailing music video director TG Omori. Recently, TG Omori underwent a kidney transplant surgery in Lagos, which unfortunately was unsuccessful due to his body rejecting the kidney donated by one of his brothers.
Portable expressed his disappointment in a video posted on social media, where he called out several Nigerian celebrities for their apparent hypocrisy.
“TG Omori has a kidney problem and celebrities are not donating money or a kidney for him, but Victor Osimhen and others donated money for Bobrisky, who has no value. The industry is full of fake love,” he said.
Despite the public show of solidarity by celebrities like Davido and Kizz Daniel, who posted messages of support for TG Omori on social media following the failed surgery, Portable emphasized that none of these celebrities had publicly contributed to Omori’s mounting medical expenses. He contrasted this with the substantial financial support given to Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser, during his recent legal troubles, questioning why a similar effort hasn’t been made for TG Omori, who is in urgent need of help.
Portable’s remarks highlight a perceived disparity in how support is distributed within the entertainment industry, raising questions about the sincerity of the industry’s public gestures of solidarity.
