‘I Don’t Hate Women’ – Nedu Debunks Yvonne Jegede’s Allegations

Actor and media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu, has addressed allegations of misogyny leveled against him by actress Yvonne Jegede. The accusations arose after Jegede took issue with Nedu’s comments following her public apology on The Honest Bunch podcast.

Jegede had accused Nedu of being misogynistic after he criticized her statements on the podcast. In response, Nedu took to Instagram to clarify his stance and refute the allegations. Emphasizing his respect and support for women, Nedu pointed out his personal and professional relationships with women.

“In the past episodes [of The Honest Bunch podcast], I must have said some things that upset a few people that has led to some of you saying I hate women. I don’t hate women. I don’t. My manager is a woman, I’ve got three beautiful daughters, and pretty much everyone around me is a woman. So I don’t know where all that thinking is coming from.”

Nedu highlighted that he surrounds himself with women both at home and at work. His female manager, close relationships with his daughters, and a predominantly female social circle were cited as evidence of his positive attitude toward women.

In addition, Nedu’s management issued a statement urging Jegede to cease making defamatory remarks about him. They stressed that her participation in the podcast and her comments were voluntary, and she was not coerced into making any statements.

This saga unfolded after Jegede appeared on The Honest Bunch podcast and subsequently apologized for her remarks about polygamy and fellow actress May Edochie. Nedu’s criticism of her apology led to a public exchange, culminating in his clarification video.

Nedu’s response and the subsequent support from his management aim to clear his name and highlight his genuine respect for women, countering the narrative that he harbors any negative feelings towards them.
