Pep Guardiola, the mastermind behind Manchester City’s recent footballing success, is reportedly set to leave his £8.5 million family mansion in Barcelona following the end of his 30-year marriage to Cristina Serra.
The couple, who share three children—Maria (24), Marius (22), and Valentina (17)—have been a prominent family both in Manchester and Barcelona. Cristina, a fashion entrepreneur, and Guardiola had made the lavish property their retreat during trips to his hometown.
A Mansion Fit for Royalty

The stunning property, located in one of Barcelona’s most prestigious neighborhoods, has an illustrious history. Once owned by former Barcelona player Rafa Márquez, the four-story mansion was purchased by Guardiola in February 2021 for £8.5 million. The deal, brokered through a company co-managed with Cristina, saw Guardiola acquire the luxurious estate from a Russian businessman.
Spanning over 22,000 square feet of land, the mansion includes an 8,000-square-foot house, a large swimming pool, and breathtaking views near the popular Carretera de les Aigües trail. Its idyllic setting led to early speculations that Guardiola might consider returning to Barcelona, especially after Joan Laporta’s re-election as the club’s president.
A Discreet End to a 30-Year Marriage
Reports from El Confidencial suggest that the mansion served as “the perfect place for a discreet separation.” Cristina had moved into the property two years earlier after leaving Manchester to resettle in Barcelona. Despite their separation, the couple reportedly spent last year’s holiday season together in the home with their children.
However, Guardiola is now planning to vacate the mansion. According to Sport, the decision to part ways was made while the couple spent time together in Spain last December.
What’s Next for Guardiola?
Following the separation, Guardiola is expected to settle into his £2.7 million luxury apartment in Salford. The move signals a new chapter for the footballing icon, who continues to dominate the Premier League and European football with Manchester City.
While the split marks the end of an era for the long-time couple, Guardiola’s commitment to his family and career remains evident. As fans and football enthusiasts speculate about his personal and professional future, one thing is clear—his focus on success both on and off the pitch continues undeterred.
