Ojude Oba 2025: Farooq Oreagba, the ‘King of Steeze’, Steals the Spotlight Again

The annual Ojude Oba Festival returned in spectacular fashion this year, and once again, all eyes were on Farooq Oreagba, the man now widely hailed as the “King of Steeze.”

Oreagba, whose 2024 appearance went viral and elevated him to instant pop culture icon status, made a stunning comeback at the 2025 edition of the festival, held in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. If expectations were sky-high following last year’s show-stopping moment, he more than lived up to the hype.

In 2024, Oreagba captivated the nation with his grand entrance: riding a beautifully adorned horse, clad in a striking green and lemon aso-oke agbada, accessorized with coral beads, a stylish fila, and unmistakable swagger, including his signature pipe, visible tattoos, and Apple Watch.

For 2025, the style icon elevated his fashion game yet again. Dressed in a regal brown aso-oke agbada and sokoto, he completed the look with silver jewelry, a Cuban link chain, and a majestic gold staff crowned with a lion head, a true statement of presence and power. His look was a seamless fusion of tradition, opulence, and personal flair, reaffirming his reputation as a cultural style legend.

“My cancer is incurable; it changed my view about life,” Oreagba previously shared, adding a layer of depth and resilience to his public persona.

The Ojude Oba Festival, a cherished cultural celebration dating back to the 19th century, is far more than a fashion runway. It is a powerful tribute by the Ijebu Muslim community to the Awujale of Ijebuland, their royal father, for granting them religious freedom.

Held annually two days after Eid-el-Kabir, the festival is a vibrant display of Yoruba heritage, featuring dazzling traditional outfits, horse-riding parades, and rhythmic cultural performances by various age groups (regberegbe).

Each year, the event draws dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, and fashion-forward personalities from across Nigeria and beyond, celebrating a blend of royalty, religion, fashion, and community spirit.

And this year, once again, Farooq Oreagba stood tall, not just as a man of fashion, but as a symbol of pride, resilience, and Yoruba elegance.

Whether for his captivating style or his story of perseverance, Steeze Daddy continues to inspire and mesmerize, reminding us all that tradition and modernity can dance together beautifully.
