Nigerian rap sensation Odumodublvck has added another prestigious accolade to his growing list of achievements after being named Leadership Newspaper’s Artist of the Year for 2024.
The award caps off a landmark year for the hitmaking rapper, who solidified his status as the face of African hip-hop with a string of chart-topping releases and game-changing collaborations.
Odumodublvck attended the awards ceremony accompanied by his mother and members of his Anti-World Gangstars crew, with whom he released a joint album in 2024. His appearance came just weeks after the surprise drop of his latest project, The Machine Is Coming a, 16-track mixtape that serves as the precursor to his highly anticipated album Industry Machine.

The mixtape features standout collaborations with the likes of Victony, Shallipopi, BOJ, and Rondodasosa, blending his signature Okporoko sound with diverse musical influences. Among the tracks is Pity This Boy featuring Victony, which has already amassed over 17 million streams on Spotify.
Odumodublvck’s run of success builds on the momentum of his 2023 breakout project Eziokwu, home to hits like Declan Rice, Blood On The Dance Floor, and Dog Eat Dog II. Since breaking into the mainstream with Picanto, he has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most in-demand acts, with global icons such as Stormzy, Skepta, and Rick Ross publicly praising his artistry.
2025 is shaping up to be another huge year for Odumodublvck. He recently secured eight nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including Next Rated, Rap Album of the Year, and Rap Song of the Year.
From sold-out shows to streaming milestones and now, an Artist of the Year award, Odumodublvck continues to set the pace for rap music on the continent.
