Afrobeats fans might finally get the long-awaited joint project from the Akpata sisters, as Niniola recently hinted at a collaboration with her sister, Teni.
During an interview with Hip TV, Niniola was asked about working with Teni, to which she replied, “It’s in the works already, so just stay close.”
The news has sparked excitement among fans who have been eagerly anticipating a project that brings together two of Afrobeats’ most distinctive talents.
Niniola, renowned for her unique blend of House music and Afrobeats, has built a stellar career spanning over a decade. With hits like “Maradona,” “Omo Rapala,” and “Addicted,” she has solidified her place in the industry. Her exceptional vocal prowess earned her the Headies Best Female Vocal Performance award in 2020 for “Addicted.”
Teni, on the other hand, has often credited Niniola as her inspiration for pursuing music. Known for her infectious hit-making and songwriting abilities, Teni has delivered chart-toppers like “Case,” “Askamaya,” and “Uyo Meyo.” She has also received numerous accolades, including the Headies Record of the Year award.
Both sisters had a successful 2024, with Teni dropping her 16-track album Tears of the Sun and Niniola releasing her third album, Press Play.
