Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman Shines at 2023 Ballon d’Or, Ranked 14th in Paris

In an impressive recognition of his talent, Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has been ranked 14th in the 2023 Ballon d’Or standings. This year’s prestigious ceremony, held in Paris, France, has showcased Lookman’s growth and impact as he represents both Nigeria and his club, Atalanta.

Lookman narrowly missed joining the ranks of Victor Osimhen, who reached the top 10 in 2022, finishing 8th and making Nigerian football history. Despite this, Lookman stands as the only African player to make the Ballon d’Or nomination list in 2023, highlighting his skill and significance on the global stage.

This achievement underscores Lookman’s rise in European football and puts Nigerian players in the spotlight once again.
