Nigerian Doctor Breaks Guinness World Record for Largest Drawing [VIDEO]

Nigerian doctor and hyper-realism artist Fola David has set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the largest drawing by an individual. The Lagos-based visual artist aimed to create 1000 square meters of art showcasing Nigeria’s diverse cultures.

David began his six-day drawing marathon on July 16 at Onikan Stadium. On Friday night, he announced the record-breaking achievement in a trending social media post.

“Congratulations to us all. On Day 4 at 9 pm, we broke the current record of 629.98 square meters, but we are not done! As the goal is to get over 1000 square meters of canvas covered in drawings; we are currently at 689 square meters. Let’s Go!”

Notable Nigerians, including the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, former GWR holder Hilda Baci, and Farooq Oreagba, the businessman who stole the show at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, have visited David to show their support.

The College of Medicine University of Lagos (CMUL), where David is an alumnus, also visited to encourage him.
