NFF Appoints Finidi George as Super Eagles Head Coach: What This Means for Nigerian Football

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named Finidi George as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s Senior Men National Football Team.

Announcing the decision on Monday, April 29, the NFF revealed that its Technical and Development Committee had endorsed the appointment of former star winger Finidi George to lead the team.

George, who served as assistant to José Santos Peseiro for 20 months before the Portuguese coach’s departure following the team’s runner-up finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, recently led the squad in an interim capacity during two friendly matches in Morocco.
