Legendary Nigerian rapper MI Abaga has officially declared Odumodublvck as the hottest rapper in the country right now. Since breaking into the mainstream, Odumodublvck has quickly risen to become one of Africa’s most prominent hip-hop artists.
In a recent interview, MI Abaga, a multi-award-winning artist himself, was asked who he thinks is currently dominating the Nigerian rap scene. Without hesitation, he gave that honor to Odumodublvck, praising his ability to unite both old-school and new-school rappers while also supporting talent from his hometown.
“The rapper that is probably top of the game right now is Odumodublvck,” MI said. “I love how he’s been such a uniting force, bridging the gap between generations and shining a light on rappers from his home city. He’s unique, different, and stands out. I have a lot of respect and love for him.”

Odumodublvck, who has consistently expressed admiration for MI as one of Nigeria’s greatest, took to social media to celebrate this co-sign from a legend he has long revered.
Since his breakout hit “Picanto” featuring Zlatan, Odumodublvck has become a household name, known for his string of successful singles and undeniable talent. In 2022, he claimed the Headies Award for Best Rap Song with “Declan Rice” and was also named Rookie of the Year, solidifying his status as one of the country’s biggest breakout stars.
His 2023 album Eziokwu recently set a record by spending over 50 weeks in the Top 10 of Spotify Nigeria’s album chart, making it the most successful rap project on the platform. Adding to his accolades, Odumodublvck recently earned a nomination for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, further cementing his place as one of Africa’s top rappers.
