Afrobeats star Mayorkun is back to reclaim his spot at the top with the announcement of his highly anticipated third studio album, titled ‘Still The Mayor’, and he’s bringing some major collaborators along for the ride.

The 12-track project, set for release on June 13, 2025, will feature eight guest artists, including none other than Davido, his longtime collaborator and industry mentor. The two hitmakers will reunite on a new track titled “Blessings on Blessings,” which promises to be another crowd favorite, continuing their streak of fan-loved singles.
This new body of work comes after Mayorkun’s reflective April 2025 single, “Reason 2 Japa,” which delves into Nigeria’s harsh socio-economic climate and the growing trend of emigration among the youth. Layered over Amapiano rhythms, the song’s poignant lyrics speak to the frustrations of a generation feeling boxed in by failing systems.

Mayorkun’s upcoming album follows the success of his 2023 EP ‘Love For Free’, which housed hits like “For Daddy” and “Low Key.” He also continues to build on the legacy of his previous albums, ‘Back In Office’ (2021), which featured the smash hit “Holy Father” with Victony, and his 2018 debut ‘The Mayor of Lagos’, which introduced fans to chart-toppers like “Mama,” “Che Che,” and “Bobo” with Davido.
Now, with ‘Still The Mayor,’ Mayorkun is not just dropping music, he’s making a statement. After nearly a decade of consistency, witty lyricism, and addictive melodies, the self-styled Mayor of Lagos is set to remind the world why he remains one of Afrobeats’ most reliable hitmakers.
