Celebrated musician Davido recently shared insights on his personal journey and the unconventional path he took to success after graduating from Babcock University. Speaking at the 2024 LAS annual summit on the theme “Life After School,” Davido highlighted how success doesn’t always follow a traditional route and how he’s become a testament to forging one’s path.
“This topic resonates deeply with me because I’m living proof of what success can look like after school. I took a different route,” Davido explained. Despite the pressures and expectations, his family encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. “I was blessed to have that choice,” he added.

Davido shared that while most of his friends and family went straight from university to the workforce, he chose to venture into entertainment instead of following a corporate career. “My family, especially my dad, expected us to go to school and then straight to work, either in his company or elsewhere. But I went my own way,” he said.
Reflecting on different success timelines, Davido emphasized that everyone’s journey is unique. “For some, success is immediate; for others, it comes gradually,” he noted, acknowledging that his route, while atypical, led him to his dreams.
