Despite a slow start, the music scene in Nigeria has seen an explosion of chart-topping hits from artists like Kizz Daniel, Chike, Shallipopi, and Seyi Vibez. According to data from TurnTable Charts, most of these songs gained massive popularity after their release in the third quarter of 2023.
Leading the pack, ‘Twe Twe’ by Kizz Daniel tops the list with an impressive 67 million streams, followed closely by Chike’s collaboration with Mohbad on ‘Egwu’, which garnered 60 million streams. Seyi Vibez secured the third position with ‘Cana’, accumulating 47.8 million streams, while Shallipopi’s ‘Cast’ featuring Odumodublvk and Seyi Vibez’s ‘Different Patterns’ round out the top four and five respectively.
Ayra Starr represents as the sole female artist in the top ranks with ‘Commas’, a standout track from her album ‘The Year I Turned 21’, achieving 28 million streams and securing the seventh spot. Notably, South African stars Titom, Yuppe, S.N.E, and EeQue break into the Nigerian-dominated list with their viral single ‘Tshwala Bam’ at number ten.
