Joeboy Encourages Young People to Stay Strong as He Gears Up for New Album ‘Vida Lavida’

Nigerian singer Joeboy is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated third album, Vida Lavida, set to drop on March 28.

In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio, Joeboy shared that the album’s title reflects his outlook on life—embracing freedom, good vibes, and positivity.

“The title means living free, enjoying life, good vibrations, and good energy. People tell me so many times that my music is soothing, and that’s what I want to keep sharing.”

The inspiration for Vida Lavida stems from his nickname, Lavida Boy, which he has expanded into live music sessions, and soon, a full-fledged music festival.

“One of my guys started calling me ‘Lavida Boy,’ so I built on the concept. I started hosting Lavida sessions, and there’s going to be a Lavida Festival soon!”

A Message of Strength for Young People

Beyond the music, Joeboy is using his platform to spread positivity, acknowledging the struggles faced by many young people, particularly in Nigeria, where inflation and economic challenges continue to impact daily life.

Through his recently launched charity, he has been supporting those in need, and he encourages young people to remain resilient in tough times.

“One thing I’d want to say to every young person going through a difficult time is—stay strong! I try not to let problems overwhelm me. Don’t let challenges mess with your self-esteem or self-belief. Just keep going and striving for more.”

A Blend of Sounds Inspired by Travel

Joeboy also revealed that Vida Lavida will feature a mix of influences, inspired by his travels and exposure to different cultures.

“I get to travel a lot, and I’m exposed to so many different ideas and cultures. It’s only right that I let those experiences shape my music in a positive way.”

Ahead of the album’s release, he has already dropped several singles, with Taxi Driver being the latest. With Vida Lavida, Joeboy aims to reinforce his status as one of Afrobeats’ most exciting hitmakers, known for crafting infectious love anthems.

Fans can expect a fusion of sounds, uplifting messages, and feel-good energy when Vida Lavida arrives on March 28.
