Nigerian rapper and activist Falz, known off-stage as Folarin Falana, has issued a fiery warning to social media critic VeryDarkMan amidst their escalating legal feud. The drama started after VeryDarkMan leaked a voice recording in which Bobrisky, the popular crossdresser, claimed that Falz and his father, respected human rights lawyer Femi Falana, had reached out during his recent jail term to discuss a potential N10 million deal for a presidential pardon. This jaw-dropping allegation quickly spread across the internet, with Nigerians debating the credibility of such a story.
Falz, however, wasted no time setting the record straight, labeling Bobrisky’s claims as utterly false. According to him, Bobrisky had been the one to reach out, seeking financial assistance. Not taking kindly to VeryDarkMan’s move, Falz promptly demanded the recording be taken down and asked for a public apology from the social media personality.
Speaking on Afro Beats podcast this week, Falz described his initial approach to VeryDarkMan as calm and reasonable but noted how quickly the critic got defensive. He recounted,
“When I reached out to him about the audio, he was instantly defensive. I’m like, bro, try and listen. What are you instantly fighting about?”
Not only did VeryDarkMan refuse to apologize, but he reportedly told Falz to “go to court,” further igniting tensions. Falz hinted that while he could pursue the defamation case from a criminal angle, he’s opted for a civil approach—for now. He added a stern warning, saying:
“If you say you want to find trouble, that is my work. If you insist that’s what you are looking for, let’s go.”
As it stands, the court showdown between Falz and VeryDarkMan is brewing up to be a hot one, with Nigerians eagerly watching to see what unfolds next.
