ID Cabasa taps Odumodublvck, Joeboy, Boj for remake of Styl Plus' 2006 hit single

Legendary music producer and label head ID Cabasa has breathed new life into the classic Nigerian hit ‘Olufunmi’ with a thrilling remake featuring Joeboy, Fireboy, Boj, and Odumodublvck. ‘Olufunmi Reimagined’ is a masterful blend of nostalgic melodies and modern Afrobeat rhythms, bridging the gap between generations.

Released on May 24, 2024, this exciting remake boasts a fresh production from ID Cabasa, with verses from Fireboy, Odumodublvck, Boj, and Joeboy. The iconic chorus from Styl-Plus’ 2006 hit single remains intact, while the new production infuses the classic with infectious energy.

The accompanying music video, shot by renowned cinematographer Clarence Peters, pays homage to the original while showcasing the artists vying for the attention of the same woman, who ultimately chooses ID Cabasa.

This release marks the second reimagined track from ID Cabasa, following the successful remake of 9ice’s ‘Photocopy’ featuring Vector. In a recent interview with the Afrobeats Podcast, ID Cabasa announced his upcoming album, set for release in 2024, which will feature a star-studded lineup of artists reimagining classic Nigerian songs.
