“I Can’t Be Sexually Committed to One Woman”, Don Jazzy Opens Up About Love, Loyalty, and Why He’s Still Unmarried

Veteran Nigerian music executive and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy has opened up about his views on monogamy, revealing that one of the key reasons he remains unmarried at 42 is his inability to stay sexually committed to just one woman.

During a candid appearance on Nancy Isime’s show, Don Jazzy discussed his personal life, love, and relationships, offering a rare glimpse into his emotional world. According to him, while many people choose to conform to expectations of romantic exclusivity, he simply doesn’t believe he has the discipline required for that kind of commitment.

“I don’t believe that I am strong enough to be with only one person,” he said. “People will run away from me being truthful. I will not be dating you and telling you that you’re the only person.”

Don Jazzy’s honesty may come across as controversial to some, but he insists that he would rather be transparent than pretend to fit into a mold that doesn’t suit him. He added that even when he finds someone attractive and forms a connection, it doesn’t erase his attraction to others.

“Some people have the strength to be sexually committed once they are attracted to somebody. But for me, the fact that you’re a beautiful lady doesn’t stop me from admiring another woman. She is also beautiful.”

This revelation echoes recent comments made by fellow Afrobeats icon 2Baba, who stated that men are not biologically wired to be sexually faithful. The remarks from 2Baba, however, sparked backlash online, prompting him to post a public apology to his wife Natasha, admitting that his comments were poorly expressed and “unlegendary.”

“I said it because I want people to understand me, but maybe I didn’t say it appropriately… I own up to my mistake. I’m sorry to my wife, Natasha,” 2Baba said.

Don Jazzy’s unfiltered approach to such a sensitive topic is likely to stir fresh conversations about fidelity, relationships, and the pressures of celebrity life. While some may see it as a red flag, others might appreciate the transparency in a world where image often trumps honesty.

Regardless of public opinion, Don Jazzy continues to command respect as a pioneering figure in the Nigerian music industry. And with this level of openness, he’s showing that beyond the beats and business, there’s a man choosing to live on his own terms.
