As of February 20, 2025, Joy Is Coming is no longer available on the streaming platform. The song, released on December 14, 2024, was a major success, amassing over 21 million streams and spending five weeks atop the TurnTable Top 100 chart.
In response to the removal, Fido took to social media to issue a statement, saying:
“Dear Oosha_FC, We want to take a moment to thank you for your love and support for Joy Is Coming. We’ve noticed that the song has been temporarily unavailable on Spotify, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
“Please rest assured that we are working tirelessly to resolve the issue and ensure that the song returns as soon as possible. Your patience and continued support mean the world to us.”
“In the meantime, stay connected with us for updates, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy Joy Is Coming again very soon!”
The removal has left fans and industry observers puzzled, as neither Fido, his record label Oosha, nor Spotify have disclosed the reason behind it. However, the song remains available on other streaming platforms, including Apple Music, where it previously reached No. 1 on the Nigeria Top 100 chart.
Meanwhile, Oosha Records has announced a strategic partnership with international distribution company EMPIRE, a move aimed at expanding the global reach of Fido and other artists under the label.
