Nigerian rapper and activist Falz is not here for the endless pressure to get married, and he’s made that crystal clear.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on May 14, Falz vented his frustration about the persistent question he keeps getting: “When are you getting married?” In true Falz fashion, he didn’t hold back.

He wrote:
“Any small thing, ‘when are you getting married?’ Can everybody kindly fokofff?”
His blunt tweet sparked a flurry of reactions online. Some fans laughed it off, praising his honesty and humor, while others applauded him for challenging the cultural obsession with marriage timelines.
“The pressure go reach everybody ”
“People should stop asking this question abeg.”
“It’s appalling at this point. People desperately trying to get you to their level.”
The post quickly went viral, with many relating to the unrelenting societal expectation to tie the knot, especially once you reach a certain age or level of success.
This isn’t Falz’s first time stirring conversation online. Just days ago, he sparked another wave of controversy when he boldly declared that “fornication is not a sin,” igniting heated debates across social media platforms.
One follower even sarcastically tied both moments together, replying:
“Ok, but can you at least tell us why you’re not married yet? Maybe you can inspire us to stay single and fornicate since it’s not a sin after all.”
Whether you agree with him or not, one thing’s for sure, Falz is not afraid to speak his mind, especially when it comes to breaking societal norms.
