Canadian rap icon Drake has made history once again, surpassing Justin Bieber to become the male artist with the most #1 hits on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart.
Drake set the new record with his latest hit, ‘Nokia’, from his joint album with PartyNextDoor. The track marks his 14th #1 on the chart, breaking the previous record of 13, which he shared with fellow Canadian star Justin Bieber.

Since the release of his new album, Drake has been in record-breaking form. The project became his 14th #1 album, tying him with Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the most Billboard 200 chart-topping albums by a solo artist.

$ome $exy 4 U is Drake’s first album since his high-profile feud with Kendrick Lamar, which resulted in the viral diss track ‘Not Like Us’—a song that later became the subject of a lawsuit. In his legal battle against Universal Music Group (UMG), Drake accused the label of failing to prevent the release of a song containing false claims about him. He also alleged that UMG used bots and unethical tactics to inflate the track’s Spotify streams.

2025 is shaping up to be another dominant year for Drake. He was recently named the highest-selling rapper of 2024 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), ranking second overall behind Taylor Swift, who claimed the top spot for a record-breaking third consecutive year.
Drake remains the highest-ranking rapper on the IFPI Global Artist Ranking, ahead of Eminem (#8) and Kendrick Lamar (#9). This marks his 10th year in the top 10 and his 10th time as the best-selling rapper globally—further cementing his legacy in music history.
