Nigerian singer and entrepreneur D’Banj

Nigerian music icon D’Banj has just dropped the official music video for “Koko,” the lead single from his highly-anticipated fifth studio album The Entertainer – D’Sequel.

This latest project, a follow-up to his 2008 classic The Entertainer, showcases a masterful blend of Afrobeats and Afropop across 11 tracks, with an additional two bonus songs. The album features an impressive lineup of global stars, including Grammy winner Wyclef Jean, the legendary Fela Kuti’s Egypt ’80 Band, Awilo Longomba, Youssou N’Dour, American hitmaker Akon, and South African sensation Chechi Sarai from NBC’s The Voice.

The Entertainer – D’Sequel also highlights D’Banj’s collaborations with Nigerian artists like Phyno, Timaya, Kayswitch, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Bhadboi Oml, and Chuchu Lee. In a move to nurture emerging talent, D’Banj included Specikinging from his talent discovery initiative, Cream Platform.

Reflecting on his journey, D’Banj shared his thoughts on the new album: “Life is a maze of self-discovery, and The Entertainer – D’Sequel confirms this truth to me. This album reflects my growth as an artist and my unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of African music. The past 20 years have been an incredible ride, and I’m excited to share this new chapter with my fans.”

D’Banj is celebrating two decades in the music industry with a series of intimate live performances and concerts across major cities worldwide, thanks to a partnership with The Temple Company and leading music firm gamma. In addition to the live shows, he plans to connect with fans through exclusive meet-and-greet events, mentoring sessions, and thought-leadership interactions.

Sipho Dlamini, gamma’s President for Africa & the Middle East, praised the project: “The only way we grow and conquer the global music market as Africans is by understanding that no one wins alone. Working with African giants like D’Banj and the amazing team at Temple is the start of something big—not just for Nigeria or West Africa, but for the entire continent.”

With the release of the music video for “Koko,” D’Banj reaffirms his legendary status as the Koko Master, proving that his influence and legacy in the music industry are stronger than ever.
