D’banj has officially announced August 16th as the release date for his highly anticipated fifth album, Entertainer – The Sequel. This upcoming project serves as a follow-up to his iconic 2008 album, The Entertainer, which catapulted him to global stardom.
The announcement was made in a nostalgic video featuring actor Gideon Okeke and a special cameo from longtime collaborator and Mo’Hits co-founder, Don Jazzy. The video has stirred excitement among fans who fondly remember the duo’s early days.
Entertainer – The Sequel boasts an impressive lineup of international and African stars, including Grammy winner Wyclef Jean, Congolese legend Awilo Logomba, Senegalese icon Youssou N’Dour, American superstar Akon, South African DJ Maphorisa, and NBC’s The Voice sensation Chechi Sarai. Nigerian heavyweights Phyno, Timaya, Kayswitch, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Bhadboi Oml, and Chuchu Lee also feature on the album.
As a teaser for what’s to come, D’banj recently dropped the single “Worthy,” featuring Youssou N’Dour and Chechi Sarai, on July 19. The track offers a glimpse into the vibrant soundscapes that Entertainer – The Sequel promises to deliver.
