Davido, renowned as one of Afrobeats’ consistent hitmakers, has propelled the ‘Ogechi’ remix to the coveted top spot on TurnTable Nigeria Top 100.
The Grammy-nominated artist showcased his hitmaking prowess once again by lending his verse to the remix of the popular track ‘Ogechi’, which gained traction initially on TikTok. Released on June 26, 2024, a day after his widely-covered wedding, the remix quickly ascended to the summit of Nigeria’s biggest music chart.
During the chart week of June 28 to July 4, Brown Joel, Boypee, and Hyce’s ‘Ogechi’ remix featuring Davido accumulated an impressive 6.76 million on-demand streams and garnered 49.3 million radio impressions, securing its position as the most streamed and most aired song of the week.
The remix outshone competition from Burna Boy’s ‘Higher’, settling firmly at the second spot, while Olamide’s ‘Metaverse’ from his new EP ‘Ikigai’ climbed 61 spots to claim third place. Rema’s ‘Benin Boys’ featuring Shallipopi and Central Cee’s ‘Wave’ featuring Asake rounded off the top five.
