Afrobeats heavyweight Kizz Daniel has officially stamped his seal of approval on Fola, a fast-rising talent who featured on his newly released EP, Unkle K (Lemon Chase). In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Africa Now Radio, Kizz Daniel described Fola as “amazing” and boldly declared that “he’s the future” of Nigerian music.

“I used to call him The Future, but fans have nicknamed him Striker, Number 9. He’s an incredible artist,” Kizz Daniel shared, highlighting Fola’s talent and growing reputation.
Fola appears alongside Kizz Daniel on a project that’s as personal as it is powerful. Unkle K (Lemon Chase) was born out of adversity after the singer lost over 600 unreleased songs, including material intended for what was supposed to be his next full-length album.
“My workstation crashed, and we lost a lot of songs. I was supposed to go on tour with the album, so I went back to the studio and recreated the energy with new songs,” he explained.
The result was a 7-track EP that captures resilience, emotion, and creative rebirth. Among its standout tracks is “Al Jannah” featuring Odumodublvck and Bella Shmurda, a deeply moving tribute to lost loved ones.
“We’ve lost a lot of people over the years, our son in 2021, my dad in 2015, my wife’s mum in 2024, and more. I wanted to make a song that remembers all of them. ‘Al Jannah’ means paradise,” Kizz Daniel said.
With Unkle K (Lemon Chase), Kizz Daniel showcases not only his own emotional depth and sonic versatility but also his ability to spotlight and mentor emerging talent. Fola’s inclusion on the project, and the strong endorsement from one of Afrobeats’ biggest stars, is already drawing attention to what many believe will be a bright future.
Early reactions to the EP have praised its authenticity, originality, and heartfelt storytelling, further solidifying Kizz Daniel’s place as a creative force in the genre.
And with Fola now in the spotlight, the next chapter of Nigerian music might already be unfolding, led by a new generation, but with the guidance of legends like Kizz Daniel.
