Afrobeats icon and Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy has announced his desire to perform a free concert for fans in Burkina Faso.
The Nigerian singer made this known via his Instagram Story on May 17, 2025, expressing heartfelt interest in giving his Burkinabé fans a live music experience they’ll never forget.

“If possible, it will be an honor for me to give the people of Burkina Faso a free Burna Boy Concert sometime this year, insha Allah,” he wrote.
Burna Boy’s statement has sparked excitement among fans, especially in a country that has been gaining continental attention thanks to the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso’s young military ruler known for his bold anti-imperialist stance and revolutionary rhetoric.

While Burna Boy hasn’t performed widely across Africa in recent years, he did headline a sold-out show in Kenya earlier in 2025, a sign that the African Giant is looking to strengthen his roots on the continent.
Globally, Burna Boy continues to dominate. Just last month, he made history by filling the 80,000-capacity Stade de France in Paris and then headlining The Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, the largest indoor arena in the UK.
Now, the superstar seems eager to turn his attention homeward and connect with more African fans on the ground.
2025 has already been a major year for Burna Boy, who recently announced his 8th studio album, No Sign of Weakness, expected to drop later this year. The project follows the success of his Grammy-nominated single “Higher” and the 2024 anthem “Bundle By Bundle.”
If the concert in Burkina Faso happens, it will mark a powerful statement of Pan-African unity, and a bold gesture from one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
