Bruno Mars Makes History as First Artist to Hit 150 Million Monthly Listeners on Spotify

Bruno Mars has once again made history, becoming the first artist to surpass 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify. This milestone solidifies his position as one of the biggest global pop stars of the 21st century, with a fan base that continues to grow across streaming platforms.

Bruno Mars reaches historic 150 million Spotify monthly listeners

The Grammy-winning singer’s latest achievement comes on the heels of his highly successful collaborations, including Die With A Smile with Lady Gaga and his guest appearance on APT by ROSÉ. These releases have propelled him to the top of Spotify’s monthly listeners chart, allowing him to set new records.

Bruno Mars has consistently shattered streaming milestones, previously surpassing the 120 million monthly listeners mark, which was set by The Weeknd. The Canadian superstar was the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners before pushing his record to 120 million. However, Mars has now eclipsed that figure, setting a new benchmark in the digital music era.

As of January 29, 2025, the ranking of the top artists with the highest monthly listeners on Spotify is as follows:

  1. Bruno Mars – 150,026,411
  2. The Weeknd – 118,182,490
  3. Lady Gaga – 118,015,982
  4. Billie Eilish – 105,118,967
  5. Coldplay – 91,053,638
  6. Bad Bunny – 89,849,475
  7. Rihanna – 88,618,899
  8. Taylor Swift – 87,467,237
  9. Ariana Grande – 86,006,957
  10. SZA – 83,491,927
  11. Justin Bieber – 82,583,526
  12. Kendrick Lamar – 81,405,905
  13. David Guetta – 74,717,185
  14. Drake – 73,697,454
  15. Eminem – 73,296,415
  16. Sabrina Carpenter – 72,189,619
  17. ROSÉ – 70,977,411
  18. Post Malone – 69,802,311
  19. Travis Scott – 69,279,115
  20. Ed Sheeran – 68,799,488

Beyond his massive Spotify monthly listeners, Bruno Mars has accumulated over 36 billion total streams on the platform, with 14 songs surpassing a billion streams each. This puts him within reach of the record 16 songs held by Drake.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mars has earned 15 Grammy Awards from 31 nominations, making him one of the most decorated artists in Recording Academy history. His seamless blend of pop, R&B, funk, and soul has not only garnered him critical acclaim but has also made him one of the most commercially successful artists of his generation.

As fans celebrate this groundbreaking moment, the anticipation for new music from Bruno Mars continues to build. If history is any indication, his next release will likely break even more records and further cement his status as a global icon in modern music.
