Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has denied claims that he bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million. The allegations stem from a viral voice recording shared by influencer Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to offering the bribe to have money laundering charges against him dropped.
In the recording, Bobrisky reportedly claimed he avoided imprisonment despite being sentenced to a six-month jail term, saying his godfather arranged for him to serve time in a lodge instead of a prison. This sentence was in connection with his April 2024 conviction for naira mutilation.
However, in a swift response via an Instagram post, Bobrisky refuted the claims, branding the voice recording as fake. He maintained that he had fully served his sentence and dismissed the bribery allegations.
“I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out. Discard any false information,” Bobrisky wrote.
This denial comes as Bobrisky continues to face scrutiny over his legal battles and public image.
