Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has shared insights into his upbringing, revealing a difficult start to life.
In a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Blaqbonez disclosed that his father abandoned him at birth, leaving him to grow up without paternal support.
“My Dad kind of dipped when I was born, so he wasn’t there. I wasn’t raised by my dad,” the rapper shared during the interview.
Despite this challenging beginning, Blaqbonez has risen to prominence as a leading figure in African rap.
The Best Rapper in Africa?
During the interview, Blaqbonez confidently declared himself “the best rapper in Africa.” He justified this by claiming no African rapper has a better discography than his.
Notably, last year, award-winning Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae endorsed Blaqbonez, declaring him “the best rapper in Nigeria.”
Blaqbonez’s candid revelations and bold statements reflect his journey of overcoming challenges and establishing himself in the music industry.
