Ghana’s Black Queens have officially begun their training tour in Casablanca, Morocco, as they gear up for the upcoming FIFA international window. A total of 19 players reported to camp on Monday, with the team settling in at the Ibis Hotel for their preparations.

The squad’s technical team, home-based players, and management officials arrived in Casablanca on Sunday, February 16, via Air Maroc. They were soon joined by some foreign-based players, while Jennifer Cudjoe (USA), Azumah Bugre (Turkey), and Grace Asantewaa (Mexico) are expected to link up with the team on Monday. Their arrival will bring the total squad count to 22.

Additionally, Mary Amponsah, the current top scorer in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, is set to join the camp after receiving a late call-up to replace the unavailable Alice Kusi.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has organized this 10-day training tour to keep the team in peak condition and provide Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren with an opportunity to assess and fine-tune his squad ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
As part of their preparations, the Black Queens will take on Morocco’s senior women’s team, the Atlas Lionesses, in a high-profile friendly at the Père Jègo Stadium on February 21. Three days later, they will face Moroccan club giants AS FAR Club in another test match.
This training tour serves as a crucial step for the Black Queens as they sharpen their skills and build team cohesion ahead of key international competitions.
