BBNaija: Mercy Eke Apologizes After Handler’s “Gold Digger” Comment About Onyeka.

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Mercy Eke, has issued an apology after her social media handler posted a controversial tweet accusing current housemate Onyeka of being a “gold digger.” The since-deleted tweet implied that Onyeka was only with Ozee Mbadiwe due to his wealthy background, sparking a wave of outrage from fans.

In response to the backlash, Mercy took to her verified account to clarify that she was not responsible for the tweet and apologized for the unprofessional behavior of her handler. She emphasized that she has moved on from Big Brother Naija and had no involvement in this season’s drama. She further expressed her embarrassment over the incident, especially as it occurred on her birthday.

Mercy also apologized to Team Onyeka and reiterated that the tweet did not reflect her personal opinions. She chose not to publicly call out her handler to avoid them being bullied by fans.

Her apology read:
“Can’t believe I’m waking up to this on my birthday… I apologize to Team Onyeka because this is so embarrassing coming from my account, it definitely does not represent me or how I feel.”

The incident has been widely discussed online, with fans divided over the situation, while Mercy’s swift apology has been praised for addressing the issue head-on.
