As Nigerian mainstream music continues its global ascent in 2024, Spotify has unveiled its Global Impact List for Nigeria, showcasing the top 30 tracks that have made the biggest waves outside the country in the first half of the year.

Leading this charge are female artists Ayra Starr and Tems, whose recent album releases have resonated strongly on a global scale. Their tracks have not only garnered significant listens but also highlighted the growing influence of Nigerian music on the international stage.

The list emphasizes the power of international collaborations, with eight of the top ten tracks featuring partnerships with global superstars. From Pheelz collaborating with Usher to Burna Boy teaming up with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, these collaborations underscore the cross-cultural appeal and expanding global impact of Nigerian music.

Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music, Sub-Saharan Africa, commented on the list, stating, “Nigerian music, especially Afrobeats, has captivated global audiences with its infectious rhythms, compelling storytelling, and innovative sound fusions. The presence of these hit songs on the list underscores Nigerian music’s ongoing rise, connecting with new audiences worldwide through collaborative efforts and robust engagement on social media.
