Spotify has unveiled its Global Impact List for 2024, and Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr tops the rankings with the biggest international hit of the year.
The Grammy-nominated star leads a selection of 30 Nigerian songs that made a significant impact on global audiences, further solidifying Afrobeats’ dominance on the world stage. Her standout placement is thanks to her feature on Rvssian’s hit track Santa, which also appears on her sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21.
The list highlights the increasing global reach of Nigerian music, showcasing collaborations with international stars such as Usher, Coldplay, and Chris Brown. These partnerships continue to drive Afrobeats’ expansion beyond Africa, proving that cross-continental collaborations are a powerful tool for global success.
Of the 30 Nigerian songs featured, 19 involve international collaborations, emphasizing how artists are leveraging partnerships to expand their reach. Tracks like Santa, WE PRAY (TINI VERSION), and Another Vibe are prime examples of this trend.

Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu, celebrated this achievement, stating, “Nigerian artists are breaking boundaries, and the world is listening. Nigerian music has always been rich and diverse, and at Spotify, we’re proud to amplify these talents globally.”
This recognition reinforces the unstoppable rise of Afrobeats and the role Nigerian superstars continue to play in shaping the global music landscape.
