Nollywood actress and media personality Annie Macaulay is stepping into a new chapter — both personally and professionally, with the announcement of her upcoming TV station, Annie Macaulay TV.
During a red carpet interview with BBC Pidgin at the recently held 17th Headies Awards on April 27, 2025, Annie shared her latest move in media, revealing that she’s actively working on launching her own online television platform. According to her, the new station is already in motion and has a series ready to air soon.
“Right now I’m working on my own TV station, my own online TV, Annie Macaulay TV. I want everyone to be ready for different things. We’ve already done a series which will soon air,” she said enthusiastically.
This revelation comes at a pivotal time in Annie’s life, as she navigates a public separation from Nigerian music legend 2Baba (Innocent Idibia). Despite the emotional challenges, Annie seems determined to move forward, stating during the interview that her children remain her strength.
“My children dey kampe, my family dey kampe. My first daughter is abroad studying. Don’t play with her o. Don’t play with my kids, they are my backbone,” she declared.
Annie also stirred conversation online after giving a viral shoutout to single ladies during the Headies, a moment that sparked both support and speculation across social media platforms.
Adding to her growing list of achievements, she recently secured her first ambassadorial deal, a sign that her career remains vibrant despite personal turbulence.
Meanwhile, 2Baba has also been making headlines. The Afrobeats icon was recently spotted reconciling with his mother, Rose Idibia, after a rocky period that saw the family file a missing person report for him earlier this year. The reconciliation was facilitated by his current partner, Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State Assembly lawmaker, a relationship that has drawn widespread attention.
As both Annie and 2Baba navigate their respective paths, Annie’s move into TV content creation signals a powerful new direction in her journey, one that could position her as a major player in Nigeria’s digital entertainment space.
