The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has lifted the suspension on actress Adanma Luke, just four months after the tragic death of popular actor Junior Pope. Luke, who produced the ill-fated movie “The Other Side of Life” starring the late Junior Pope, faced suspension following the actor’s death along with four crew members when their boat capsized in the River Niger on April 10, 2024.
In reaction to this tragic incident, the AGN initially suspended Luke for breaching safety protocols and prohibited its members from collaborating with her until further notice. However, the AGN has now reversed this decision. In a statement by National Secretary Abubakar Yakubu, the guild announced:
“The National President of the Guild, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, uses this opportunity to announce the lifting of the suspension placed on Adanma Luke, producer of the movie ‘Another Side of Life,’ where star actor Junior Pope and four other crew members lost their lives in Anam river.
Additionally, the AGN has lifted the ban on filming in riverine areas but urged members to strictly adhere to safety standards as recommended in the AGN Bylaws.
